Dear Alaska Bushwheel: I have 4 Supercubs on 29" Bushwheels, Last summer I bought and installed the 29X13X6 Alaska Bushwheel on my Cessna 185. After more than 20 years and 3,500 off airport hours on 29X11X10 with 10" adapters, I can't believe the improvement. The gear loading, pressures on the gear leg and gear box are greatly reduced even with very heavy loads. The reduction of stress on the airplane during taxi, turning and landing is unbelievable. Even the ability to handle cross winds, both landing and take off, has substantially improved with the Alaska Bushwheel on the 185. The flexibility in the sidewall of the tire is what makes this all happen. The 185 is now a puppy, instead of a bear, even on asphalt. The daily surfaces we land on could be gravel, pavement, sand and clay, the tires perform great on all surfaces. The tires gave our plane and extra 8" of prop clearance in a 3-pt attitude and that has helped us to not get any rocks sucked into the propeller so far. These tires have enabled us to provide better trips for our clients buy enabling the aircraft to land on so many types of surfaces. Enjoy the pictures!
