;void(0)) Also included with the 1 3/4" Tailspring is the Maule Spring Bolt Pack (P/N ABI-MSBK). Consult the current revision Maule Aerospace Technology Inc. Maintenance Manual for the aircraft model that the Tail Spring Assembly is being installed. 1. Carefully block aircraft main wheels and lock brakes so the aircraft cannot roll. 2. Carefully raise and support tail, so the tail wheel is clear of the ground. 3. Remove tail wheel assembly from the original spring assembly. 4. Remove original Maule 1 ½” spring, (PN 4004/5/6) and spring attach bracket. (PN 4003). 5. Carefully inspect original attach bolts. Replace worn bolts with new. 6. In reverse, re-install Alaskan Bushwheel™ 1 ¾” Spring pack (PN ABI- 4004/5/6) using Alskan Bushwheel™ Bracket (PN ABi-4003). Torque all bolts to manufacturer’s specifications. Install cotter pins where required. 7. Re-install tail wheel assembly without Scott 1 ½” spring spacer (PN 3241-15). Torque attach bolt to manufacturer’s specifications. 8. Carefully lower aircraft tail back to the ground. 9. Revise weight and balance. Make appropriate log book/ maintenance record entries.  Here is some helpful information regarding torque settings when installing the 1 3/4" tail spring. The forward spring bolt, 3/8" is 13.3~15.8 ft. lbs. The tailwheel clamp bolts, 5/16" are to torqued to 8.3 ~11.7 ft. lbs. The tailwheel spring bolt is 7/16", torqued to 37.5~41.5 ft. lbs.
